When you have batter for stuff that should get it, then don’t want waste the rest. Then you see a bag of snack food.

When I deep fry, I usually end up not getting the oil hot enough. I tell myself that a deep fryer is both a good and terrible idea.

I battle with this idea from time to time and always arrive at the same conclusion. A deep fryer would be the death of me since deep fried foods are my favourite.
French fries, fried chicken (American and Korean), spring rolls, egg rolls, fried fish, donuts/beignets, croquettes, tonkatsu, corn dogs, tempura... so many of these things are simply battered and fried but the batter composition, consistency, and technique (e.g. keeping tempura batter cold) makes all the difference, but they’re all lovely foods.
